The contract has been awarded by Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin. The contract is worth around CHF 248 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A joint venture led by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/implenia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Implenia<\/a>&nbsp;has won a contract from Tunnel Euralpin Lyon Turin (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.telt-sas.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TELT<\/a>). At issue is the planning and construction of part of the Mont Cenis base tunnel in France. The affected section of the tunnel, which is 57.5 kilometers long in total, is about 4 kilometers long and runs from the Villard-Cl\u00e9ment portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Implenia&#8217;s partners in the project are the companies\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nge.fr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">NGE<\/a>,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www. itinera-spa.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Itinera<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rizzanideeccher.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rizzani de Eccher<\/a>. Implenia holds 34 percent of the joint venture. The project partners reportedly won the contract based on the technical optimizations they contributed during the bidding phase. They took first place in the evaluation of technical solutions. The contract is worth about 248 million Swiss francs.\u00a0The project will take about\u00a0four and a half years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Implenia is proud to have the opportunity to design and build such an important part of the future European rail network,&#8221; Erwin Scherer, Global Head Tunnelling at Implenia, is quoted as saying in the statement. &#8220;We are able to play to our great experience in all areas of extensive infrastructure projects as a strength in such projects,&#8221; he adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The client, TELT, is a French-Italian company responsible for the construction and management of the cross-border section of the new Lyon-Turin line at the Mont-Cenis base tunnel. This section is to become a central ring of the Mediterranean corridor &#8211; one of the nine axes of the European TEN-T (Trans-European Transport Network).
